Recently, I had the honor of speaking at TEDx. But the real gift wasn’t just sharing my message—it was hearing the other speakers too.
One fact from another speaker stopped me cold: Most high-achieving women never seek help until crisis hits their door.
This truth connects all powerhouse women. We believe success demands huge sacrifices. Blood-on-paper type sacrifices. But here’s the secret: It doesn’t have to.
I learned this the hard way. You don’t have to.
Look at the most amazing women in history. Each one battled with feeling “not enough”:
After studying these incredible women, I found four patterns that keep showing up:
“If I excel at everything, I’ll finally be accepted.” Michelle, Oprah, and Rowling all fell into this trap. They worked harder than anyone else, thinking perfection would equal worth.
“If I become someone new, I’ll be safe and loved.” Chanel, Marilyn, and Frida constantly reinvented themselves. They believed a new identity would bring belonging.
“If people see me, I’ll matter.” Oprah, Marilyn, and Julia de Burgos sought visibility. They thought being seen meant being valued.
“I’ll turn my hurt into proof I deserve to be here.” Frida, Julia, and Rowling channeled pain into art. They made beauty from broken pieces.
What if you could achieve great things WITHOUT sacrificing your:
The answer starts with awareness. It starts with noticing the stories you tell yourself.
Try this simple exercise right now:
Step 1: Think about your “what ifs”
Step 2: Ask yourself honestly: “Why don’t I have this yet?”
Step 3: Notice what comes up. Your brain might say:
These thoughts show where survival mode is blocking you. Because here’s the truth: Everything calling to you is a sign you already have it within you.
When stress, doubt, or fear hit, your brain gets stuck. But science shows us something amazing: You can’t always think your way out—but you CAN feel your way out.
When you feel overwhelmed:
When I stood on the TEDx stage, nerves hit hard. So I recycled. I remembered standing up to my daughter’s doctor—that quiet, absolute certainty when I said, “No, we’re not doing that.” I felt that same strength in my body. Then I brought it to the stage.
That’s not fake positivity. That’s teaching your nervous system: “I’ve been strong before. I can be strong now.”
You don’t have to prove anything.
You don’t have to earn your worth.
You just have to remember who you were before the world told you who to be.
And choose her again.
If this message speaks to you, you’re not alone. Thousands of women are waking up to this truth. They’re choosing to succeed WITHOUT sacrifice.
Take action today:
Because when one woman rises above survival mode, she shows others it’s possible too.

After 15 years as a therapist, I hit a career high while my personal life was falling apart. On the brink of a divorce, I realized how easy it is for high-achieving women to succeed on paper while silently unraveling.
So I used the very tools I gave my clients to rebuild my marriage and redefine what success meant to me. Now, I support other women in redefining what wealth and success means for them beyond the constant push and quiet burnout. Through practical tools rooted in neuroscience and real-world application, I help women reconnect with their deepest goals and create lives that actually feel good.
