The Reconciliation With My True Self

How I Stopped Chasing Goals and Started Feeling Whole Again

Another day… when all your achievements are now part of the past, and all your energy has already shifted toward something else — a new goal, a new desire, a new promise.

But what does that promise really offer in exchange for all your hard work, time, and energy? What’s the outcome it delivers? A house, a car, a relationship, recognition, status… But beyond the surface, what do those things truly give you?

Pause for a moment. Give yourself permission to imagine you already have all of it.
What feelings linger when you do? Is it peace? Pride? Love?

And then ask yourself — are those things the only way to access this state?

The Chase

I spent most of my life pouring my energy into the external world and the promises it carried. It felt like a never-ending chase — a marathon with no finish line.

At some point, the pursuit of happiness stopped being about happiness. It became about the pursuit itself — the constant striving, the urge to keep going, as if peace lived just beyond the next accomplishment.

Those fleeting moments of accomplishment? They were like mirages — satisfying for an instant, then gone. Another shiny goal would appear in the distance, calling me again.

The Realization

Then came the breakup — the moment of realization when I saw the cycle clearly.

I wasn’t ever going to “arrive,” was I?
So why was I so compelled to keep running? What was the payoff of staying trapped in that loop? And more importantly, who was actually in charge?

The truth hit me: I had been walking a circular road wrapped in fog — fog so thick it blinded me from seeing that I was never moving forward.

That fog was my lack of self-awareness.

The Awakening

When the fog began to clear, freedom became possible.

Instead of chasing happiness, I began to notice it — in the smallest, most ordinary moments:
My cat sitting and purring beside me — joy.
My husband hiding to scare me — playfulness.
My daughter calling to show me her Halloween costume — connection, love, intimacy.

Suddenly, every day, every quiet second, felt worthy of celebration.

The Return Home

My intention isn’t just to tell this story — it’s to invite you into it. To experience it in your own life.

Welcome your feelings. Welcome your nervous system.
Get so familiar with the beauty of life in each moment that joy, fulfillment, and peace become ever-present — even when things are difficult.

Start small: take 10–20 minutes a day to reconnect with emotions such as love, wonder, joy, or peace.
If nothing comes to mind, think of a moment when you once felt that way. Forget the thoughts — focus only on the sensations. Let that feeling fill your body.

Each time you do, your nervous system heals and self-soothes at a biological level.
And when that happens — you’ve arrived home.

Your true self has always lived within you.
It speaks through peace, trust, and love — not through the noise of constant striving.

A Gentle Invitation

Instead of waiting for the New Year to make a resolution, what if you received the year already transformed — grounded in self-love and emotional peace?

If this message resonated with you, I’d love to invite you to join Insightful Wealth — my private Facebook community where we explore how to align money, success, and fulfillment through emotional awareness and nervous system healing.

Come reconnect with your true self, alongside others who are redefining wealth from the inside out.

Hey, I'm Roselyn

After 15 years as a therapist, I hit a career high while my personal life was falling apart. On the brink of a divorce, I realized how easy it is for high-achieving women to succeed on paper while silently unraveling.

So I used the very tools I gave my clients to rebuild my marriage and redefine what success meant to me. Now, I support other women in redefining what wealth and success means for them beyond the constant push and quiet burnout. Through practical tools rooted in neuroscience and real-world application, I help women reconnect with their deepest goals and create lives that actually feel good.
